I still have a book hangover...

... from reading The Map of Salt and Stars.  To the point where, despite having read ... 7 books after it - I'm still reeling a little. So instead of giving you a favorite from the books I've read in the last week, I'm digging back in to my re-reads for this weeks recommendation.

Recommended Read

Into the Drowning Deep ~ Mira Grant

So it turns out that I'm actually a little into the Horror genre. Or at least, I'm into the Mira Grant brand of it. I hate zombies, but I LOVED her "FEED" series - which is about zombies - so ... make of that what you will. So, when she writes about killer mermaids, you can bet I'm all in.

The book is full of interesting characters, plenty of individual motivations, action, mystery, and plenty of intrigue. I highly recommend it.

Read If: You liked either the Tidelands on Netflix, or the Sirens on HULU - only possibly scarier and bonus actual bisexuals. You like anything else by Mira Grant/Seanan McGuire. You really didn't want to go swimming in the ocean anyway. Nature being badass. Interplay between science, scifi, and belief. Diverse characters.

Warnings(?): Loss. Violence. High levels of suspense. Horror? I think? My horror-meter is broken. Scary-good writing.
