The Monday Grays

Dear IE,

I realize that many demands are placed on you, as a browser. I realize that you feel like the ugly duckling of the family. And let us be truthful, you are. Google and Firefox and Safari . . .even opera, all have prettier interfaces than you. So you pile on the bells and whistles, but you know what? It turns out that the beauty on the inside really is what matters.

You lack the ability to function quickly when called upon for videos. You stubbornly insist that designers and programmers and even languages themselves adapt to you. Then you sulk and break websites that function cleanly and beautifully on other browsers because they are compatible and comply with a shared set of standards.

All that would almost be workable. We nerds and geeks are willing to fight, to struggle,to bash our heads against desks ad cubicle walls in order to triumph in form and function where others fail. But you are able to wear down the most tireless of us. Your failures are sporadic, inconsistent, and often nonsensical.

We would be happier, you would be happier (and possibly healthier and wealthier) if you would attempt to fulfill your stated purpose as a browser, to deliver content to your clients as efficiently, quickly, and consistently as possible - instead of throwing tantrums and generally acting like a spoiled child.
