Skyward

I didn't get nearly as much reading done this weekend as I had intended this weekend, but what I did read was EXCELLENT.

The Weekend's Read

Skyward ~ Brandon Sanderson

My lovely friend Michelle, knowing my mild obsession with every Sanderson book I have read, gave me this beauty for Christmas this year and I finally demolished enough of my coffee-table TBR fort to get to it.

Unsurprisingly, I loved it. If you're like me, you'll relate to Spensa, admire Rodge (Rig), look up to Cobb, be surprised by a lot of other people, and absolutely fall in love with M-...  nope, I'll let you find out for yourself!

Be warned, this is only the FIRST book in a series about space pilots, aliens, AI and the very-human tendency to run with scantily-supported suppositions that often turn out to be in direct opposition to the truth.

Read if:
You love stories that challenge assumptions. All the assumptions. Of everyone. You love snark (so much snark). You wished the Master Sergeant was a girl. You wanted to be a fighter pilot at some point in your life. Did I mention challenging assumptions?

Rating for "force other people to listen to you read passages out loud because you just NEED to": 10/10
